Natural Latex

Balloon Theory St. Louis works hard to source the best latex companies that adhere to an earth friendly commitment. Latex balloons are not plastic; they are a plant-based products made from natural rubber.

Natural latex comes from Rubber Tree Plantations that are a renewable resource. Latex is collected by cutting the tree’s bark, then catching the latex in a cup and harvesting discourages deforestation because latex-producing trees are left intact. A tree can produce latex for up to 40 years.

Latex harvesting doesn’t hurt the tree!

Here are a few ways you can be a good steward and dispose of your balloons.

Cut your latex balloon into small pieces. This will help it biodegrade quickly and ensure no animals are harmed by large pieces of balloons.

1.

Reuse any foils for another balloon, or repurpose into something you will use.

2.

Repurpose the ribbon for use on gifts, cards, or anything else you can imagine!

3.

If you would like us to help you dispose of your balloons properly, please contact us. We can reuse or donate them using our TerraCycle Party Decoration boxes.
